Shah Rukh's last release

Shah Rukh's last release was My Name Is Khan which was out on Feb.11, 2010. It was a truly heart touching movie.

I had a tough struggle to watch the movie because during its release, my mother became ill. But we watched it a week later its release. That experience was a tearful one.

At least 50% of the time, I had tears rolling down my eyes. Most of them were when I'd see Rizvan going through what many Muslims around the world went through. 9/11 was extremely tragic but whatever happened afterwards in the name of security was even more tragic. I say around the world because it wasn't just USA but in many other countries, Muslims had to go through tough times and they still do.

Anyway, I liked the simpleness of the film which sounded ordinary to some and over-the-top to many. But I found it rather balanced. The fact is we still have good people like Rizvan who can do over-the-top kind of things like he did with the hurricane thing. For example, just a few days ago, I read an article about a guy in Florida who lifted a car to save a man's life who was trapped under the car while trying to fix it. Isn't that "over-the-top"?

Well, the thing is, these kind of heroic acts are indeed very rare in today's selfish world so that is why I guess many people didn't find MNIK to be very real. But personally, I do believe good people like Rizvan exist otherwise this world would have came to an end by now!

A real life example of a good person is Shah Rukh himself. I guess that is why I found Rizvan to be more realistic than just a character in a movie named My Name Is Khan.

I have also mentioned this many times on twitter, you need a heart to watch MNIK. Of course it has lots of emotional scenes because the tagline itself is very emotional, My Name Is Khan and I'm not a terrorist.

I really thank Shah Rukh and Karan for making a film like this, we could have used this much before 2010 but it's better late than never. Must admit though, 2010 was not a bad time to release it because by then 98% of this world have understood that we, Muslims, are not all terrorists, most of us are good people. :)

Good night.
