Obviously I had to write this

January is nearly over and how can we be without any blood boiling incident? Hey, we are fans of a man who is most of the time misunderstood after all! Anyway, they say relatives are equal to bugs, Shah Rukh seems to be facing the exact problem from Pakistan where his late father's and his proud relatives live. While it is not his relatives making his life blurry at the moment but two people in the country are doing so. Two people you ask? Just two? Yeah well two people who perhaps Shah Rukh does not even hear the names of on a daily or weekly basis.

But as usual, the Indian media doing it again, their colors don't seem to lie just like Shakira's hips don't lie. They covered neighbors' Hafeez's and Malik's irrelevant comments on Shah Rukh's essay and used ONE line from the essay on which, thousands have pitted their hatred for SRK on.

I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India.  There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighboring nation rather than my own country - this even though I am an Indian, whose father fought for the freedom of India. Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return what they refer to my "original homeland".
Okay he said that. But is this enough to make you question his loyalty to India? If he was an ordinary man and not a superstar and he wrote this, perhaps it would either get overshadowed or few people would read and agree/disagree and that's it. I agree with him although I am not an Indian. How irritated would a HUMAN BEING be if he is occasionally questioned "Are you Indian for real?" or are you this and that? I ask to all Indians, if someone questioned your loyalty to India, won't you feel angered? I don't even care if you're a Hindu or Muslim! Ask yourself this question. Why do you seem to forget that PUBLIC FIGURES like Shah Rukh are ALSO HUMAN BEINGS?

If I were an aggressive American and I read his essay, I would tell him not to ever put his foot in the soil of USA. Because he cleverly bashed America and his whole message was pointed to Americans who thinks Muslims are terrorists. But I have been brought up better fortunately. You might wanna read the following lines from his essay.

I became so sick of being mistaken for some crazed terrorist who coincidentally carries the same last name as mine that I made a film, subtly titled My name is Khan (and I am not a terrorist) to prove a point. Ironically, I was interrogated at the airport for hours about my last name when I was going to present the film in America for the first time.
I wonder, at times, whether the same treatment is given to everyone whose last name just happens to be McVeigh (as in Timothy)??
I don’t intend to hurt any sentiments, but truth be told, the aggressor and taker of life follows his or her own mind. It has to nothing to do with a name, a place or his/her religion. It is a mind that has its discipline, its own distinction of right from wrong and its own set of ideologies. In fact, one might say, it has its own “religion”. This religions has nothing to do with the ones that have existed for centuries and been taught in mosques or churches. The call of the azaan or the words of the pope have no bearing on this person’s soul. His soul is driven by the devil. I, for one, refuse to be contextualized by the ignorance of his ilk.
Why are YOU reacting when WE, Americans should be reacting and bashing him? Grow up India and Pakistan! And perhaps read EVERYTHING before forming your opinion based on one piece of INCOMPLETE news. But if you just decide to hate on him, then I feel sorry for you that you are not able to love a man like him.

And India has the biggest democracy in the world right? Why isn't the most prominent face of India not allowed to speak his mind? Why can't you respect his point of view and move on with your life? Why make a big deal about it? Why should he be shushed when he receives ill treatment from any part of the world? Why are you being such hypocrites? Just because he's a movie star?

How is he a bad Indian citizen? I don't hear him ducking his yearly taxes. I never heard him outsourcing his hard earned funds to Pakistan or any other country. The whole world knows he's an Indian actor, not a Pakistani actor. He received honor from UNESCO for his charitable work IN India, not abroad. He adopted villages of India, not Pakistan. Be sure to consider his deeds (which happens to be much bigger than an ordinary Indian citizen's...the same citizen who forms an opinion about him) before dismissing him as non-loyal to his country India.

If you have problems with him earning money the way he does then it's his choice and people like you pay him for the job he does. He gives back as much as he earns. He is saving money for his kids who are Indian citizens. Do you still feel he's not a loyal Indian? Even after I have stated so many points? Then you are most welcome to go shove your so called patriotic ass somewhere else. But do not make the mistake of judging Shah Rukh. You are no one to judge him and hurt him with your silly comments and opinions.

My journey...

Guess the best way to start off this story is by saying that Shah Rukh is a huge part of my life. He’s as necessary for my survival as oxygen, food, and water. It sounds childish on my part to say how my birth coincides with his film debut with a week of gap in between but I guess it’s quite valid in some case. Having been born a week post Deewana’s release, I now believe I was destined to the privilege of knowing and loving Shah Rukh. Couple of years passed by and we entered a new millennium, my love for him took on a life of its own. For those early years, I loved him as an actor mostly. Although I had access to net but I didn’t utilize it to discover how SRK off the reel is until Kal Ho Na Ho released.  From 2004 to 2008, I began to understand him beyond his films. And that has become a part of my daily life.

My first film in theater EVER was Main Hoon Na and it was such a magical experience. I really experienced Shah Rukh for the first time in my life. Before I only heard that he can make people cry and laugh in the span of three hours but who knew I’d also get to experience the same. It felt as if he controlled my emotions for 3 hours. From then on, I have never ever missed a single movie of his in theater except Paheli because I had some personal problems.  I take lessons from his films and apply them in real life which has actually helped me shape my personality for the better. This is something normally no one does because, after all, films are for mere entertainment.

When you love a celebrity, you are bound to dream of meeting him or her. I never dreamed of meeting him, but it is a wish. A wish which had more than 30 days of chance to be fulfilled but circumstances held me back. In 2009, he spent over a month shooting in San Francisco area, an area I lived in for 8 years. I might not have even tried to meet him but I could feel his presence around because he made that summer into something extraordinary with his presence. You know when an angel is present somewhere around you, it just feels good and the air is warm. That was how June-July 2009 was for me. During that time, I actually helped other fans who I had just found online on youtube to meet SRK because I would track his whereabouts. But even today, I feel disappointed in myself for not making the effort to meet him.

I have my own mini SRK center at home which I recently made where I keep all DVDs, magazines, books, CDs and a little more. Besides all that, he’s one of the reasons why I’d like to be alive. From a certain time in life on, I made up my mind that I don’t wish to miss out on him. I do not know of a life without him and the thought itself is nonexistent in my own mind. My family calls me SRK’s mother because I care about him madly. His pain is my pain, his sorrows are my sorrows, and his happiness is my happiness. Most importantly, although we do not know or met each other, I have an unusual trust in him. It’s not the trust of him not kissing on screen or quitting smoking. I find such stuff quite silly, but he and I share a different sort of trust. It’s unexplainable.

I have faced a lot of criticism from people who go by what the media feeds them and cannot make the effort to get to know Shah Rukh like I have done. They think he’s just an actor, not someone worth to spend so much time on. It’s their loss completely. Shah Rukh is the most intellectual man in the entertainment industry. No wait, he’s not only intelligent but handsome, caring, loving, understanding, protecting…basically he has it all that every woman can ever want in a man. But that does not make me envy his wife, Gauri. Instead, I want to be like him. He works hard, so I try to work hard too, no matter what it is. He cares for his family and friends; I also try my best to do the same with my family and friends. He does good deeds silently due to religion…well since we share the same religion, I do so of course. It might sound weird because I am a female after all, but he is my role model more than my dream man. I love him dearly and to death.
