And it was all about 3 hours of laughter!

Now I wonder how many times I will watch Happy New Year. My first viewing just ended roughly two hour back. And what a movie it was!! From the beginning to end, you'll be hooked. Lots and lots of laughter! :D

So ever since I got back home, I have only been thinking about Farah. This is the first time when after watching a movie, the director of that movie is completely stuck in my mind. I just can't stop praising her. As you know, HNY was all a dream for Farah. She got this dream after her debut movie, Main Hoon Na. But man, good things take time. So did HNY. TEN YEARS LATER and two movies later, here we are.

Just like any other SRK fan, I was highly pissed off with her. I don't wish to repeat the Ram Katha during such a joyous occasion but you get the idea. I didn't have the greatest expectation when HNY went on floors. But as time passed, my faith in Farah had a magical comeback. I have discussed with a few friends and defended her as well. It took a lot of thinking for me to take a firm stand on Farah. People have repeatedly doubted her post TMK and I know many people will carry their doubts with them to their seats at theater where they will watch HNY. But my friends...Shah Rukh trusted her, I trusted her...

And I swear on my sore cheeks that Shah Rukh's and my trust were not broken. It takes guts of steel to make a movie like Happy New Year. So grand. So colorful. So special. So crazy. So funny. So simple. Farah succeeds in turning her dream into a delightful story with no big emotional potholes. And then translating the same story into a visual treat. The story made much more sense than the news pieces we hear on news channels or read in newspapers. Farah proves that she is a brand ambassador of equality LOL. Everyone had equal roles, it wasn't like Shah Rukh hogging on all the screen space and dialogues, even when he is the mastermind in the story. And as an SRK fangirl, I wasn't sad but overjoyed instead. He really is the most secure actor ever. Deepika is the soul of the movie, there is no HNY without her. Actually the whole cast is pretty apt for the story.  I can't imagine anyone else as Jag, the handsome hunk. Neither anyone else as Tammy, Nandu or Rohan. There are no unnecessary scenes, editing is quite top notch.

If you ever saw one of the various interviews the HNY team did, you can tell they all thoroughly enjoyed working with each other. You could feel and witness the same camaraderie and happiness in the movie too. Thank you to everyone who worked in HNY for brilliant entertainment. We missed having such grand Diwalis!!

I personally cannot make any comparisons because this movie is something completely different. You don't get to see dance, action, comedy and heist with a touch of emotion in ONE movie all the time.

I cannot wait to go back and watch it again! :D I request those who still haven't watched it to go and watch it if it is possible. You can't miss this madness.
